Board of Directors

Attendance: Katie Dykes, Judy Friederichs, Bonnie Groessl, Sharon McNulty and Brenda Tyczkowski.

 

  1. Julie Zeeman called the meeting to order.  Julie noted that her phone # has changed and should be changed in the PRN. The new number is (920) 676-8621.

 

  1. Minutes were approved as circulated.

 

  1. Treasurer’s Report

 

    1. Balance: Checking-    $814.57

Balance: Savings-      4,136.50

Amounts include $1,800 received in dues.

 

    1. WNA is asking districts to choose an annual  dues category. The difference from past dues would similarly affect the district dues. Three categories were presented.
    2. MOTION: to support dues change to $267.50/yr. ($5/pp increase per year for the district)Bonnie Groessl/ Katie Dykes. Carried.
    3. Budget proposal for 06/07 was completed.

 

4.      Nurses Day Celebration

 

a.       Event would occur 5/9 with Open House 6 PM, Speaker 7 PM. Two rooms-Heritage B & C at St. Vincent Hospital have been reserved.  Food will be brought in from Sam’s, which is allowed by St. Vincent. St. V’s is still checking on whether wine will be allowed. Arrangement will include 75 chairs in the middle and 18 tables around the perimeter for booths.

b.      Co-sponsors include: Bridge to Health, Bellin College of Nursing, Kappa Pi, Becky Wolfe.  The amount to be solicited would be $100. apc and payable to NEWDNAand sent to Brenda.

c.       Speaker will be Jan Basten, Director of Pastoral Care, St. Vincent. She is a good motivational speaker.

d.      Bonnie Groessl’s husband will do the fliers.

 

                  Note: Since the meeting, the celebration has been cancelled.

 

5.      New Business

 

a.       Elections: President-Sharon McNulty

                      Treasurer: Glenda McConnell and Brenda Tyczkowski

Judy will use draft ballot presented at the meeting and finalize it with Sherry Szczpanski to receive the ballots. Ballots will be included in the newsletter.

b.      WNA Update:

                                                              i.      There will be a workshop on building an effective Board of Directors on 4/28 from 8:30-2:30 in Madison.

                                                            ii.      Request for nominations for WNA awards.

7.   Other Business

 

      A new district logo was presented by Julie Zeeman. She will send it out to board members.
